Soft Structure No. 6
The piece is a sculptural light object composed of twelve identically designed elements, consolidated into a single 3D-printed sandstone structure. Each element consists of an upper and lower section, rotated in relation to one another to generate a continuous circular formation that encloses the light source.
The organic geometry mediates the light rather than exposing it. Illumination moves across the surface, activating the material’s depth and granular texture. Instead of emitting direct light, the object produces a soft, diffused glow that emphasises rhythm, repetition, and mass, reminiscent of the atmospheric presence of a bonfire.
Through its material density and fluid geometry, the work investigates how light can be embedded within solid form. The result is an object that feels calm, grounded, and spatially present, where illumination becomes an integral structural component rather than an applied effect.
